Konsta is Now Live

I am very happy to announce that after 5 + months of an intense period of designing, coding, and testing, we have pushed the software to production.

The app will live on this subdomain https://project.konsta.app/

Deciding on the subdomain

Originally, I had intended to use https://cloud.konsta.app/project/my-project-name for the subdomain for the actual app. However my partner thought it was too long for users' liking.

I made a poll on the story and asked my followers which URL they preferred. After 24 hours, the results were in. https://project.konsta.app won. To be honest, I preferred https://cloud.konsta.app as it described where the app is stored (the cloud), the type of thing is being stored (projects) and then specifying the project. However, people found the shorter URL a lot more appealing and memorable. So I decided to go with this.

Our First User

I am also proud to announce that Henson Projects is our first user who will be using Konsta for their real project. I have worked with Luke, the Director of Henson projects, when I was working at University of NSW project management team. Luke and his small team delivers project management services for councils, universities and other small projects. He is a top bloke.

Last month when I was finalising the app, I reached out to him via LinkedIn saying I was working on a project management app and asked whether he was interested in beta testing the app. After looking at my landing page, he was very interested and wanted to see in detail when it was ready.

Few weeks after, we organised a video call and I showed him a live demo of the website. He was very excited and willing to try it for his project which was coming up.

It's been great seeing "Product Market Fit" first hand. We talked about the existing project management software out there and how expensive and complicated they are.

I spent hours and hours on coding and developing this software because I knew that there was no easy to use and affordable software out there which helped us in managing projects. But in the back of my mind I questioniong whether people will see the value of the software as I do. I'm glad Henson Projects is willing to give Konsta ago and provide feedback and see if they have benefited from it.

Marketing

The main features have been finalised (but still more to come!). Now I need to now focus on my marketing and sales. I have bought a couple of Udemy courses - Patrick Dang's Business Development & B2B Sales for Startups and The Complete Digital Marketing Course by Rob Percival and Daragh Walsh.I have been going through them whenever I had time and they have been so helpful. Now I just need to put this into practice!

I will provide an update once beta testing is well underway and will share feedbacks and lessons learnt.
